Akhsarov Enver (1915-02.1943) Hero of the Soviet Union
E.Akhsarov was born in Zilga, North Ossetia. The commander of the 227 Infantry Regiment of the 83-th division of Voronezhsky Front, Major Akhsarov was honored with the title of Hero of the Soviet Union on January 4, 1944 (posthumously) for the personal heroism and capable management of the regiment’s action in destruction of the enemy’s forces.

Dzhioev Konstantin (1916 - ?) Major-general, WW2 veteran
C.Dzhioev was born in Morgo, South Ossetia. He graduated from Rostov University. In 1940 he entered the military service. As a brave officer he participated in many battles of World War and was honored with orders and many medals, including the medal “For Courage” After the war was over K.Dzhioev took a course in Political-Military Academy and then he was appointed the Commander of the Antiaircraft Division’s Political Department. In 1967 he was promoted to the major–general rank. |
Ibragim Dzusov
(1905-1980)
Major-general, Hero of the Soviet Union
I. Dzussov was born in Zamankul, North Ossetia within the farmers’ family. Working hard in field or pasture he often looked in the sky and dreamt about the vast expanses of airspace. But the wide outburst of gangsterism brought him to Police Special Forces.
In 1929 I.Dzutsev graduated from the Krasnodarsky Cavalry School, but his first dream was still there and later on he took a course at Orenburgsky Air School.
In 1942 major Dzusov, as an air force regiment commander entered the battles against Nazis. He fought them on Bobruysky, Minsky, Baranovichesky, Slonimsky, Brestsky and Sidletsky directions. Then he was promoted to the air corps commander.
In all battles Dzusov participated he showed an outstanding courage and skills as well as a great patriotism. The pilots respectfully called him “Batia” (Dad).
During the WW2 the air units he was commander for brought down 832 German aircrafts in 1243 battles.
In 1945 I.Dzusov was honored with Hero of the Soviet Union – the highest honor in USSR. He also held the Order of Lenin, three Orders of Red Banner, two Orders of Suvorov and many medals as well.
Ibragim Dsusov was one of those heroes, whom Ossetian people always will be proud of.
